Monthly Musings: Febuary - Winter and Spring come together
diary
_______
Each month I reflect on what’s been happening for 1O 1O 1O, sharing what I am grateful for and looking to the month ahead.
February has seen two seasons come together. The beginning saw snow and cold temperatures - we even managed a snowlady! But now at the end of the month, it feels like spring is starting which feels me with optimism for the year ahead.

February has felt like a long month despite it being the shortest. It’s the month where winter still feels very much upon us here in the UK and coupled with the pandemic lockdown, it’s been hard to motivate oneself to get out and about until recently as it was bitterly cold. One silver lining is the end of the month has brought unseasonably warm temperatures and with a break in the weather, it feels like spring is arriving.
With the vaccine rollout continuing at pace and the government targeting fully relaxing restrictions by June we've felt more positive about our postponed wedding happening in August. Check back soon for the rest of the wedding series of posts on how to plan your dream wedding. Find the series here.
Be My Valentine
February the 14th marks valentines. We don't go in for grand gestures or meals out usually and being at home we made a bit more effort this year to try and mix things up. I bought Scott a lovely red velvet cake - I think he said it was his favourite ever cake. And I'm sure it'll feature at our wedding in August. He bought me a DIY pizza kit. I wasn't convinced at first as I cook most meals already, however, with his charm and some nice music in the kitchen, we had a good time cooking together and the pizzas were delicious.
Stepping into Spring Style
With the weather changing again, here's the opportunity to switch up your wardrobe. Spring and Autumn are my favourite months for clothing as they allow you to play with layers! There are quite a few new pieces I have my eye on from & Other Stories who has gorgeous attention to detail.

Life By Design*
This month’s newness we can’t be without is two things - sorry I know that's cheating! But we've taken delivery of two items ordered for us at Christmas, which proved so popular they had to be back-ordered. They are both from Cox and Cox and have not disappointed in real life!
First is the limewashed wooden table lamp with its pretty silver collar and white shade. It's so light and neutral it will work with any scheme, but has enough texture and interest to hold its own - it's no wallflower! The second is the Sara rug. A beautiful, soft blue rug with loads of detail and a silky touch.
It’s All is Good
With winter mainly behind us, I feel good to start focussing on the year ahead. We have lots of projects in the pipeline, including a 1930's refurb with a new build next door kicking off in the next couple of weeks, not to mention works starting again on 3A. It's a busy and exciting year ahead, but important to find time to relax and reflect. This month ahead I will make a conscious effort to eat better, increase my activity and practise mindfulness.
What will you do to improve this March? Can you be better than a year ago at the start of this?
